How to Find Your Perfect Fit

Before You Begin:

  • Nails must be free from polish, acrylic, gel, BIAB, etc.
  • All measurements must be in millimetres (mm)

Method 1: Measure at Home

What You'll Need:

  • Clear tape or paper
  • Pen or fine tip marker
  • Ruler marked in millimetres (mm)

Steps:

  1. Place tape across the widest part of your nail (sidewall to sidewall, pulling skin aside)
  2. Mark both sidewalls with your pen
  3. Measure the distance between the marks in millimetres
  4. Repeat for all 10 nails, as each nail differs
  5. Note each finger as follows: Left - Pinky, Ring, Middle, Index, Thumb / Right - Thumb, Index, Middle, Ring, Pinky
  6. Use The Nail Factory sizing chart to find your size (e.g., 12mm=2)

Tips for a Great Fit

  • Measure in millimetres: Always use mm for accuracy.
  • Check the curve: The press on nail should match your nails natural curve to avoid gaps or digging in.
  • Don't overlap the skin: The press on nail should fit the nail plate and not cover the cuticle or skin.
  • When in doubt, size up!: You can gently file down a slightly larger nail for a perfect sidewall fit (please note, this may reduce the integrity of the nail).
